Life gets busy. Priorities shift. Maybe you had a bad experience years ago, or the cost felt out of reach, or you just kept putting it off until putting it off became the new normal.
If it’s been a while since you’ve seen a dentist — whether that’s two years or twelve — you’re in good company. And if you’re reading this, you’re already doing something about it.
You’re not the only one who’s been away.
Dental avoidance is one of the most common things we hear about from new patients. The reasons vary — anxiety, cost, a busy schedule, or just not knowing where to start — but the feeling underneath is usually the same: a mix of wanting to fix things and dreading what someone might say when you walk through the door.
Here’s what we want you to know: we’re not here to lecture you. We’ve seen it all, we’ve heard it all, and the only thing we care about is helping you move forward.
What actually happens at your first visit back
If you haven’t been to the dentist in a while, walking in without knowing what to expect can feel like the biggest hurdle. So let’s take it off the table.
Your first appointment at Bloomfield Dental is a comprehensive exam — a full picture of where things stand. We take X-rays, do a thorough clinical evaluation, and talk through what we’re seeing. No surprises, no pressure. Just information and a clear sense of what your options are.
For patients without insurance, our comprehensive exam is $100. That’s it — a real starting point without a financial guessing game.
We understand the barriers — because we grew up here
Dr. David Yarmark and Dr. William Kessler both trained at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and completed hospital-based residencies at Albert Einstein Medical Center. They’ve spent their careers right here in Delaware County, and they know firsthand what keeps people from getting care.
Cost is real. Anxiety is real. Not knowing what you’re walking into is real. That’s why we’ve built our practice around removing those barriers — not pretending they don’t exist.
We offer 0% interest financing for 12 months or more, so you can spread out the cost of care without it derailing your budget. And if anxiety is part of what’s kept you away, tell us. We’ll go at your pace.
You don’t have to have a “dental emergency” to come in
One of the most common things we hear: “I’ll go when something hurts.” But by the time something hurts, small problems have often become bigger ones. Coming back now — even if you’re not in pain — means you have more options and more time.
The good news? Whatever we find, we’ll walk through it with you clearly and without pressure. You’ll leave knowing exactly what’s going on and what you can do about it, at whatever pace works for you.
