Early cavities can now be treated without a drill
If the sound of the drill or the thought of a numbing shot has kept you away from the dentist, this is good news. Curodont™ Repair Fluoride Plus treats cavities caught in their earliest stage by helping your tooth repair itself, with no needle, no drilling, and no filling.
It’s a quick, comfortable treatment that fits right into a regular visit. For many patients, it means a cavity we spot at a checkup can be handled the same day, before it ever needs a filling.
How does Curodont™ work?
A cavity doesn’t start as a hole. It starts as a small weak spot where the enamel has lost some of its minerals. At this early stage, the surface of the tooth is still intact, and that’s where Curodont™ shines.
We apply a gentle liquid to the weakened spot. It soaks into the enamel and creates a microscopic framework. Calcium and phosphate from your own saliva then fill that framework in, rebuilding the enamel from the inside out, with fluoride added for extra strength.
The result: the early cavity stops progressing, and your natural tooth structure is preserved.

Who is a good fit for Curodont™?
The key is timing. Curodont™ is designed for cavities that are caught early, which is one more reason regular checkups pay off. At your exam, Dr. Yarmark or Dr. Kessler will look closely at your teeth and X-rays and walk you through exactly what they see, in plain language.
Curodont™ may be a great option if:
- ✓Your dentist has found an early cavity or a weak, chalky “white spot” on the enamel
- ✓The cavity is between your teeth or on a smooth surface and hasn’t broken through into a hole
- ✓You’d like to avoid needles or drilling whenever possible
- ✓You’re looking for a gentle option for your child (ages 6+; younger children by evaluation)
When another treatment may fit better:
- ✓The cavity has already formed a hole or reached the deeper layers of the tooth
- ✓The tooth is cracked, broken, or has an old filling that’s failing
If that’s the case, you still have comfortable options. We’ll explain each one clearly so you can decide what feels right. Learn about restorative dentistry.
Aftercare is simple: avoid rinsing, eating, or drinking for 30 minutes. Then go about the rest of your day as usual.

Curodont™ FAQs
Does Curodont™ hurt?
No. There’s no drilling and no injection. Most patients feel nothing beyond a gentle cleaning of the tooth surface, which makes Curodont™ a great option if you feel anxious about dental visits.
Is Curodont™ the same as a filling?
No. A filling replaces tooth structure that has been lost to decay. Curodont™ helps your own tooth rebuild its enamel using minerals from your saliva, so nothing is removed and no filling material is placed.
How long does the treatment take?
The application itself takes less than five minutes, and it can usually be done during a regular visit. Afterward, just avoid rinsing, eating, or drinking for 30 minutes.
Will I ever need a filling on that tooth?
Curodont™ is designed to stop early cavities from progressing, and it’s typically a one-time application. Your daily brushing, flossing, and regular checkups still matter, and we’ll check the area at each visit to make sure it stays healthy.
Is Curodont™ safe for children?
Yes. Curodont™ is suitable for children and adults, and because there’s no needle or drill, it can make a child’s early dental experiences much more positive. For children under 6, we’ll evaluate whether it’s the right fit.
What if my cavity is too advanced for Curodont™?
If a cavity has already formed a hole or reached deeper into the tooth, a filling or other restoration may be the better choice. We’ll explain every option in plain language and help you choose what’s best for you.
Does insurance cover Curodont™?
Curodont™ is $95 per treated spot. Coverage varies by plan, so our team will check your PPO benefits before treatment and let you know your costs up front.
