Dr. Costa grew up in the Chicago suburbs where he attended elementary and high school. After high school, he moved to Florida where he attended Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Costa graduated with a bachelor of science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. While an undergrad, he was a member of the academic honors fraternity, Order of Omega and received a Citation of General Honors for his academic achievements. After college, he was immediately accepted into dental school at Nova Southeastern University where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. While in dental school, he was one of few students chosen by faculty to be a clinical skills tutor.
After graduating, Dr. Costa worked as a dentist in Florida until 2016, when he moved to the Philadelphia area. He has been working with Dr.Barbosa Ruiz ever since. Dr. Costa has completed continuing education coursework in the areas of oral surgery, endodontics, pediatrics, implantology, cosmetic dentistry and Invisalign. Dr. Costa prides himself on his ability to make even the most anxious patients feel comfortable in the dental chair. In addition, Dr. Costa understands that every patient is different, and will find a treatment option that fits a patient’s financial as well as oral health needs.
When he is not at the office, Dr. Costa enjoys being outside, visiting the city, traveling and playing with his dog, Penny. He, also enjoys volunteering his services at home and abroad. For the last three years Dr. Costa has traveled to underserved areas of Jamaica to perform oral surgery. He hopes to make the trip an annual tradition.
